Introducing :: Savannah

Thought Britrock was over? Well, get ready for Mk II with the four-piece Savannah from Telford in Shropshire.

There's more than a touch of youthful swagger to upbeat indie single 'Move', which came out in February via their own independent label, Hartfield Records. The guitar based sound with a bounce and catchy lyrical twist that, as the band say, "does what it says on the tin, makes you MOVE." Written from a loose jam after band members had had a little flutter on the Grand National (hence the reference in the lyrics) - and lost. "It captures the feeling of aggression, and also not caring, making the next move."

If their sound is your kind of thing, it might be worth checking out the demo EP they put together last year, bug seemingly never released officially. Savannah manage here to draw in influences from other bands - from Kasabian to The Twang - while still retaining their own identity, and demonstrating a big stage sound on tracks such as the first here, 'Days Last Forever'.

Savannah plan to release their next double A side single 'Back Street Robber'/'Live Your Life' on May 30, with a UK tour to support. Dates to be confirmed.

Until then, the band continue to gig week in, week out to keep them on peak form because they say, "live is where they thrive". Catch them at the following:

May
09. Wolverhampton Fixxion Warehouse w/The Circles
24. Wellington Wrekin Inn

Savannah are: Liam Ball - vocals, Jason Lewis - guitar, Tom Jones - bass, Harry Neat - drums
