July 10 2015 - Hot Top Ten

BOYS - OCEAN
Returning with a deliciously meandering dreamwave track hatched just in the last 24 hours, the feel is very American in its lo-fi sound, despite the band only hailing as far west as the London postcode. We first heard them 16 months ago (see here), so surely it's now about their time to break.

CENTREFOLDS - YOU, ME & DEBAUCHERY
Out July 27, the Bristol outfit follow 2014’s EP ‘Fashion’, with this latest single of hooky indie pop riffs. Catch live at Bristol Harbourside Festival on July 18.

COLOUR - KEROSENE
The art pop Liverpool/Stoke four-piece follow up their impressive debut at the start of the year (see here) with new AA single (w/ 'Pendulum'), out this month. Catch them live tomorrow (July 11) at The Box, Crewe.

PALACE - HEAD ABOVE THE WATER
Opening track from their 'Chase The Light' EP, and now next single - out September 7 - from Leo and the boys who continue to impress with their blues ballads of bittersweet riffs and sexy vocals.

FORMATION - HANGIN
The two south-London twin brothers, Will and Matt Ritson, head for Latitude and Tramlines festivals this month, which should provide the perfect setting for this latest track from their 'Young Ones' EP (out now on Meno Records) with its flavoursome post-punk dance groove.

FLEURIE - FIRE IN MY BONES
Nashville-based Laurie Straham unveils the lead single - digitally released on July 17 - a synth, piano and computer programmed fusion, from her upcoming EP 'Arrows', out September 4.

PUBLIC IMAGE LTD. - DOUBLE TROUBLE
Domestic non-bliss lead single released August 21 from the stalwarts' upcoming 'What The World Needs Now…’ album in September. Niggling earworm of expletives. And plumbing.

SUNFLOWER BEAN - THE STALKER
B-side to upcoming single 'I Hear Voices' from the much vaunted Brooklyn neo-psych trio. Out on Fat Possum on July 24.

SAFIA - EMBRACING ME
Released today, the new single from Canberra synthpop trio and follow up to 'Counting Sheep', blending rich vocals, smooth waves of synth and vibrant beats with a soulful ambience.

LA BÊTE BLOOMS - NOTHING BUT THE TASTE
Produced by Matt Peel (Pulled Apart By Horses, Eagulls), the Hull post-punks go all out with more dark intensity (after their self-titled debut EP late last year), with next single released on October 17.
